Cheque Presentation
North Shropshire Wheelers’ Alan
Roberts handed over two cheques before last Friday’s Parker
International event at Oswestry in aid of the Spinal Injuries Unit VW
Caddy Fund at The Robert Jones and
Agnes
Hunt Hospital
at Gobowen. £100 was raised at the North Shropshire Wheelers/Shropshire
Cycling Clubs Association Reliability Trial in February from entry fees,
with the cause particularly close to many Association riders’ hearts.
Alan was one of Shropshire’s strongest riders before becoming the
unfortunate victim of a road accident whilst out training on his bike.
He spent six months at the hospital on the long road to recovery, and
also presented a personal cheque as a thank you.

Newport
K52/10 course gets approval.
The new version of the K52/10 Sambrook - Newport to be used in September
for Round 15 was approved by Mids DC yesterday.
Whilst not perfect, it took considerable time and effort to keep the
course in any form at all.
