Hawk Plant Shropshire
Championship Points Series 2008
The Hawk Plant Shropshire Championship
Points Series was introduced in 2004 to aid the objectives of the
Association - to promote County Championships and to create greater liaison between
clubs in Shropshire.
The Series consists of all
solo Open events put on by member clubs and the Association itself
regardless of distance, with a 15 event Series soon established.
Non-standard distances are given some meaning, which opens up potential
future development by inclusion of sporting courses.
Greater points are awarded
for the longer distances to encourage riders to step up and try their
hand and to at least locally address a fall-off in participation
nationwide at the longer events. Points awarded also reflect the greater
effort required at greater distances.
<= 30 miles
60 points for first, reducing in 5 point steps to 5 points
> 30 & <= 60 miles
70 points for first, reducing in 5 point steps to 10 points
> 60 miles
80 points for first, reducing in 5 point steps to 15 points
